Course Objective

The aim of this course is to ensure that prospective classroom teachers recognize traditional children's games within the framework of folklore, realize the cultural and educational values of these games, and gain awareness of researching children's games in the Turkish culture that are on the verge of being forgotten and transferring them to new generations. In addition, it is aimed to provide the competence to effectively plan and implement these games in teaching processes by understanding the effects of these games on children's cognitive, affective, social and psychomotor development.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explain the cultural roots and historical development of traditional children's games.
2   Analyze the effects of traditional children's games on children's cognitive, social, and motor skills.
3   Effectively apply traditional children's games in educational environments.
4   Introduce different regional games in Turkish culture.
5   Integrate game-based teaching with classroom activities.
