Course Objective

This course aims to enhance primary school students scientific thinking skills, curiosity, creative problem-solving abilities, and interaction with technology through STEM education practices at an early age. Within this framework, the course first provides teacher candidates with the theoretical foundations of STEM education. Then, it enables them to integrate the acquired knowledge and skills into various disciplines, analyze STEM practices, and evaluate outcomes effectively.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define the basic concepts of STEM education.
2   Explain the theoretical foundations of STEM.
3   Analyze the relationship between interdisciplinary instruction and STEM.
4   Design STEM practices suitable for the primary school level.
5   Relate STEM activities to relevant subject areas in the curriculum.
6   Design and present original STEM-based activities.
7   Evaluate the impact of STEM practices on student learning.
8   Identify appropriate materials and technologies for STEM practices.
9   Develop teamwork and creative problem-solving skills.
10   Generate solutions to challenges encountered in STEM teaching processes.
