Course Objective

This course aims to develop pre-service teachers' competence in applying design-based learning processes in the context of primary school education and to support them in designing learning and teaching processes that encourage creativity and collaborative problem solving. By combining the theoretical and practical aspects of design-based learning, we focus on developing original and curriculum-appropriate design projects that encourage pre-service teachers to address real-world challenges through an iterative process.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explaining the theoretical foundations of design-based learning and its benefits for primary school education.
2   Developing design projects appropriate for primary school curriculum.
3   Creating lesson plans that integrate design-based learning.
4   Creating assessment tools that measure students' creativity, collaboration and problem-solving competencies for design-based learning processes.
