Course Objective

To ensure that teacher candidates can determine a repertoire suitable for their students' cognitive development characteristics by evaluating traditional and current methods in piano education and to ensure that they develop the skills and awareness to perform a wide piano repertoire that will develop their students' musical appreciation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Can determine repertoire pieces suitable for the age, cognitive development characteristics and abilities of the students
2   Can use piano teaching methods suitable for the age, cognitive development characteristics and abilities of the students
3   Can follow and compare traditional and current piano methods
4   Can perform the determined repertoire pieces and give them as examples to the students
5   Can perform advanced piano repertoire with the right technique and style

10 Being able to use appropriate piano teaching methods according to the characteristics of the students
11 Sampling by performing pieces from the determined repertoire
12 Being able to evaluate the development and needs of the students correctly
13 Instilling the habit of listening to music in order to develop the students' musical appreciation
14 Performing advanced piano repertoire with the right technique and style
