Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach prospective teachers of Turkish Language and Literature what a textbook is, how it should be used as an educational material, and what criteria they should use when choosing a textbook. In this context, starting from the history of textbooks, Turkish Language and Literature textbooks that have been used until today and are currently being used will be discussed in terms of textbook review methods.

4   To be able to analyze Turkish Language and Literature textbooks in terms of form and content

3 Textbooks and multimedia in the Turkish education system
4 The purpose and function of the textbook; teacher, student and textbook relationship
5 Supplementary materials to the textbook
6 Materials to be used by teachers and students as supplementary materials to the textbook
7 Studies with examples for the suitability of textbooks to the curriculum
8 General review, course evaluation, midterm exam
9 Language and expression used in textbooks
10 Scientific elements in textbooks based on the relationship between textbooks and science
11 Design elements in textbooks
12 Illustrations and typographic appearance in textbooks
13 External structure elements in textbooks
14 Turkish textbook reviews in the context of language learning and teaching
15 Final exam
