Course Objective

The main purpose of this course is to provide basic Turkish communication skills to foreign students. Students will be able to understand simple expressions frequently encountered in daily life, express themselves and their basic needs, ask and answer simple questions, and use basic grammar structures. In addition, they will gain basic information about Turkish culture, making their language learning process more meaningful.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Will be able to read and write the Turkish alphabet correctly.
2   2. Will be able to introduce themselves, their family and friends in simple terms.
3   3. Will be able to recognize and name basic objects and concepts in daily life (numbers, colors, days, months, foods, clothes, etc.).
4   4. Will be able to ask and answer simple questions (where, when, how, how many, etc.).
5   5. Will be able to express basic needs (asking for food, asking for directions, buying something, etc.) with simple sentences.
6   6. Will be able to understand simple directions (come, go, sit, stand, etc.).
7   7. Will be able to use the most frequently used basic grammar structures correctly (nouns, adjectives, pronouns, verb conjugations, present tense, present simple tense, simple past tense, possessive suffixes, plural suffixes, etc.).
8   8. Will be able to recognize the basic elements of Turkish culture (greetings, polite expressions, family structure, important days, etc.).
