Course Objective

The main purpose of this course is to examine in depth the latest developments in the field of language and literature education, innovative pedagogical approaches, technology-supported learning environments, strategies for different learner needs, and current debates in language skills and literature teaching. Through this course, students are expected to acquire a comprehensive knowledge of contemporary language and literature education practices, develop critical thinking skills, and be able to use this information effectively in their future professional lives.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Evaluate current paradigms and theoretical frameworks in language and literature education.
2   2. Will be able to analyze innovative methods applied in language teaching (flipped classroom, gamification, mobile learning, etc.).
3   3. Will be able to apply contemporary approaches (intercultural literature education, multiliteracy, visual reading, etc.) in teaching literature.
4   4. Discuss the potential and risks of artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies in language and literature education.
5   5. Evaluate the principle of inclusiveness in language and literature education and adaptations for different learner groups.
6   6. Explain the importance of informal learning environments and student autonomy in language and literature education.
7   7. Evaluate strategies for developing emotional intelligence and social skills in language and literature education.
8   8. Discuss how sustainability and global citizenship themes can be addressed in language and literature education.
