Course Objective

This course aims to introduce the historical development, theoretical approaches, and key sources of folk literature studies.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will be able to explain the historical processes of folk literature studies.
2   Students will recognize theories used in folk literature.
3   Students will classify oral and written sources.
4   Students will identify the basic stages of field research.

Assessment Criteria

Students will be required to take a midterm exam and a final exam as part of the course. The format of these exams (written, multiple choice, etc.) will be announced to students by the instructor during the week prior to the exam week.
