Course Objective

To enable students to comprehend the literary value and cultural reflections of story and novel genres in Turkish literature by examining their historical development, important representatives and thematic features.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explain the historical development of story and novel genres in Turkish literature.
2   Analyze the themes covered in stories and novels depending on periods and social changes.
3   Compare the works of important writers in terms of structure and theme.
4   Evaluate the technical features of story and novel genres with a critical perspective.
5   Discuss the effects of genres on contemporary literature and culture based on examples of stories and novels in Turkish literature.
