Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce the prominent theoretical approaches and methods in modern language studies, and to develop students' abilities to analyze and critically evaluate contemporary linguistic research.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define key concepts and theories in modern language studies.
2   Explain core approaches in fields such as structuralism, morphology, semantics, and pragmatics.
3   Analyze contemporary language studies within a theoretical framework.
4   Evaluate the influence of interdisciplinary approaches on language studies.
5   Develop an academic perspective for their own linguistic research.
