Course Objective

To introduce the main lines of Turkish Literature in the Modernization Period, together with its artists and works.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to understand and explain the political and literary situation of the Tanzimat period.
2   To be able to recognize the first and second period artists and their works with their distinctive aspects.
3   To be able to learn about the genres that entered our literature based on Westernization.
4   To be able to determine the political and literary dimensions of the Servet-i Fünûn period. To be able to understand the place and importance of Edebiyat-ı Cedide in our literature.
5   To be able to question the poets and writers representing the period with their works
