Course Objective

To ensure that students gain the ability to critically evaluate and develop educational materials by examining Turkish textbooks in terms of content, language, design and pedagogical suitability.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Evaluate the compatibility of Turkish textbooks with educational programs.
2   Analyze the language, content and design features of textbooks.
3   Critically discuss the educational value of texts used in teaching Turkish and their suitability for the target audience.
4   Comment on the pedagogical competence of textbooks and their suitability for student-centered approaches.
5   Propose suggestions on how an effective Turkish textbook should be developed.
