Course Objective

To introduce the main lines of Turkish Literature in the Modernization Period, together with its artists and works.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   o be able to determine the political and literary dimensions of the Servet-i Fünûn period. To be able to understand the place and importance of Edebiyat-ı Cedide in our literature.
2   To be able to question the poets and writers representing the period with their works.
3   Explains the historical and literary characteristics of the Fecr-i Ati and National Literature periods.
4   Evaluates the reflections of literary genres developed under Western influence in Turkish literature.
5   Discusses the literary transitions and differences between the periods.
