Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with the ability to analyze family relationships by comprehending the basic concepts, functions and structural diversity of the family; to critically evaluate current theories, research and practices on parenting and to develop conscious parenting approaches.

1   Defines key theories, research, and practices related to parenting.
2   Analyzes cultural and contextual factors that influence parenting behaviors.
3   Follows current scientific findings on parenting and child development.
4   Evaluates changes in parenting approaches across developmental stages.

6   Critically examines and interprets academic studies on parenting.
