Course Objective

The aim of this course is to enable prospective mathematics teachers to recognize general, subject matter and pedagogical competencies related to the teaching profession, to integrate these competencies into their own professional development processes and to develop the skills necessary for effective mathematics teaching.

1   Defines general and subject matter competencies related to the teaching profession.
2   Explains pedagogical knowledge areas specific to mathematics teaching.
3   Plans teaching environments that support student learning.
4   Evaluates professional ethics and values in the context of teacher competencies.
