Course Objective

The aim of the course is to examine current methods after comprehending the historical development of foreign language teaching methods, to determine the need and necessity of learning a foreign language today, to discuss the problems encountered in the application stages, to focus on the inadequacies of current methods, to produce solutions to these and to provide information to students on the subject.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understands, interprets and evaluates the foreign language teaching methods used today.
2   Uses the methods and techniques he/she has learned effectively.
3   Follows the developments in the field of foreign language teaching on a daily basis.
4   Creates a perspective on the importance of method in foreign language teaching.
5   Synthesizes and adapts his/her theoretical knowledge as necessary in the application stages.
