Course Objective

The aim of this course is to acquire the basic terms of translatology and to provide conditions for students to develop the necessary skills for the convenient methods and techniques for the translation German/Turkish - Turkish/ German, to select the right and convenient words and syntax depending on the text type and to recognize the problems of equivalence in translation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to acquire the basic terms of translatology, types and fields of translation
2   Ability to recognize the problems of translation and the equivalence and interferences in translation
3   Ability to acquire and to use the methods and techniques for the translation of German text in various fields into Turkish and vice versa
4   Ability to select the convenient words and syntax depending on the text type
5   Ability to develop German vocabulary in various fields
