Course Objective

The aim of this course is to focus on the effective use of the digital storytelling method in German language teaching. The goal of the course is to enable students to develop both their foreign language skills (Speaking/Writing/Listening) and their digital skills through this approach.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Use Digital Storytelling method in teaching German as a foreign language.
2   Develop digital skills
3   Increase their professional knowledge in the context of contemporary language teaching.
4   Gaining the ability to vocalize written texts
5   Gaining the ability to present different media types in harmony with each other
6   Select media types such as photo, audio, video from archives and perform various target-oriented operations on them

1 Introduction of the course program, creation of the semester work plan. Formation of project groups. Presentation and evaluation of group projects
2 the theoretical basis of Digital Storytelling. Presentation and evaluation of group projects
3 Integration of real stories and narratives into foreign language classes and their language learning effects. Presentation and evaluation of group projects
4 The contribution of audio, visual, video and animations to permanent learning. Presentation and evaluation of group projects
5 Processing of scenes suitable for the scenario into the script form and points to be considered. Final Exam.
6 Introduction to necessary software: Photo and image software: Photofiltre
7 Introduction to necessary software: Audio processing software: mp3DirectCut
