Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the types of tests and exams in German foreign language courses; designing and preparing different exams for the measurement of different language skills in German language courses; evaluating, examining and analysing the exams.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explain the basic concepts of testing and evaluating
2   Formulate, select and prepare exam questions to assess language skills
3   Examinations for different levels of language competence
4   Prepare language tests for all 4 language skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking)
5   Design testing materials in accordance with the language criteria formulated by the European Reference Frame

Assessment Criteria

The success of the student is determined by the grade to be obtained from the midterm and final exams of the course. Apart from this, there is no special evaluation criterion.
