Course Objective

The aim of this course is to develop German reading comprehension skills, to acquire different reading techniques and strategies, to be able to distinguish texts written in various styles; to develop basic education and thinking skills in the field of German literature.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learn the types of literary texts and reading techniques
2   Improve his/her reading capability and vocabulary
3   Determine the types of literary texts by defining its physical, content-related and linguistic features.
4   Implement the basic techniques in order to attain comprehension in literary text analysis and to address questions to analyse the text.
5   Summarize literary texts
6   State the socio-cultural differences by comparing it with literary texts.

Assessment Criteria

The success of the student is determined by the grade to be obtained from the midterm and final exams of the course. Apart from this, there is no special evaluation criterion.
