Course Objective

The aim of this course is to develop students skills in designing, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate educational programs for preschool children based on theoretical knowledge and research. Students will learn to create child-centered, diversity-sensitive, and effective teaching strategies

1   Explain the fundamental theories of early childhood development and learning.
2   Identify the principles of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).
3   Design holistic and child-centered programs.
4   Apply play-based and active learning methods.
5   Plan educational activities that address individual differences and cultural diversity.
6   Develop practices that promote family and community involvement.
7   Use assessment tools to evaluate program effectiveness.

3 Developmental domains: Integrating cognitive, social, emotional, language, and motor development into curriculum content.
4 What is Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) Principles and examples.
5 Curriculum development process: Setting goals, writing objectives, and planning steps.
6 Addressing individual differences and cultural diversity: Differentiated instruction approaches.
7 General review, course evaluation, midterm exam
8 Supporting cognitive development: Problem-solving, creativity, and science activities.
9 Supporting social-emotional development: Empathy, cooperation, and group activities.
10 Language development and early literacy: Storytelling, dramatization, and language games.
11 Supporting motor development: Movement education and physical activities.
12 Teaching strategies: Holistic approaches, technology integration, and effective classroom management.
