Course Objective

To express the importance of nutrition, to know what to do for a healthy diet, to know about nutrition insufficiency and problems and choosing proper food for nutrition.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define basic concepts and principles of nutrition
2   Explain the basic structure and functions of nutrients.
3   Prepare a diet plan for different age s children.
4   Select proper food for pregnant and lactating woman and newborns
5   Explain diseases about food and nutrition
6   Know the importance of nutrition and recognize the nutrition problems

8 Course overview, evaluation, and midterm examination
9 Nutrition of pre-school children
10 Gastroenteritis diet (diarrhea, celiac, lactose intolerance, cow milk protein intolerance)
11 Inborn errors of metabolism
12 Diabetes
13 Malnutrition and obesity
14 Nutrition of preschool, school child and adolescence period
