Course Objective

The aim of this course is to develop pre-service teachers' teaching skills related to calculus and algebra topics in high school mathematics curriculum. It is aimed to improve pre-service teachers' understanding of the basic concepts of calculus and algebra and to eliminate their misconceptions, to reveal how the historical development and daily life examples of the basic concepts of calculus and algebra can be used in teaching, to learn teaching methods and approaches related to these subjects and to reflect their teaching skills on practice.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Know the basic concepts of calculus and algebra.
2   Explain how the historical development of the basic concepts of calculus and algebra and daily life examples can be used in teaching.
3   To know the methods and approaches related to the teaching and assessment of the basic concepts of calculus and algebra.
4   Design teaching applications related to the basic concepts of calculus and algebra.
5   Evaluate the applications related to teaching the basic concepts of calculus and algebra.
