Course Objective

This course aims to educate qualified and professional prospective teachers in chemistry education with micro-reflective teaching practices, to establish the relationship between theory and practice of prospective teachers using micro teaching and reflective teaching techniques, to design sample lesson plans and activities and to improve the professional skills of prospective teachers by having cognitive, affective and psychomotor experiences.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The students will be able to have knowledge about micro teaching technique, and its history
2   The students will be able tohave knowledge about reflective teaching technique, and its history
3   The students will be able to have knowledge about micro teaching and reflective teaching stages
4   The students will be able to have knowledge about the competencies of chemistry teachers
5   The students will be able to prepare a sample micro-reflective teaching lesson plan and activities related to chemistry teaching
6   The students will be able to design micro-reflective teaching practices related to chemistry teaching
7   The students will be able to make self-evaluation by following instructional performances from video recordings and to produce alternative solutions
8   The students will be able to analyze lecture presentations related to chemistry course made by peers and experts
9   The students will be able to develop the professional competencies of Chemistry teachers as a result of repetitive teaching experiences
