Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach methods for identifying the types and amounts of elements and compounds that make up substances, and to develop research, problem-solving, critical thinking, and inquiry skills through the use of chemistry content outcomes.

1   Understanding of scientific thinking and inquiring relation with daily life.
2   Learning the structure and composition of the matter.
3   Learning the determination of the structure of the unknown matter and using it.
4   Learning the steps of chemical process.
5   Listing the chemical analysis applications.
6   Explaining the methods used in chemical analysis.

1 Introduction to analytical chemistry
2 Qalitative and quantitative analysis
3 Solutions, solubility, solutes, concentration of the solution, important chemical reactions of analytical chemistry, precipition reaktion, neutralization reaction, and komplex formation.
4 Chemical equbilrium, homogen and heterogen equibrium reactions, introduction acit and basies
5 Acit and bases reactions, strong acids and bases reactions strong acids and weak bases reactions, strong bases and weak acids reactions
6 Poly acit and bases Ph and Poh concepts, buffers solutions
7 Chemical reaction in electrochemistry, electrochemical cells
8 General review, course evaluation, midterm exam
9 Gravimetric methods of analalyisis, application of gravimetric methods
10 Titrimetric methods of analysis
11 Titrasyon curves foracid and bases, titration curves for weak acid and bases
12 Precipitations titrrimetry, application of silver nitrate solutions(argandimetry)
13 Complex formation titration
14 Applications of oxsidation reduction titrations

Students' homework will be directly added to their midterm and final grades and will be evaluated. Exam dates will be stated in the course plan. Once the exam dates are finalized, changes can be made to the dates.
