Course Objective

The aim of this course is to develop an awareness of thinking skills in science education, and to acquire and apply the necessary skills for reasoning on scientific and societal issues.

1   Understanding the importance of scientific reasoning in science education and everyday life.
2   Using scientific reasoning in the teaching of science concepts.
3   Comprehending the relationship between the nature of science and scientific reasoning.
4   Using scientific reasoning skills in social issues.
5   Designing activities and lesson plans to improve scientific reasoning skills.

Assessment Criteria

Students will be required to take a midterm and a final exam as part of the course. The format of these exams (e.g., written, multiple-choice) will be announced by the course instructor prior to the exam week.

Every trial to copying will be finalized with disciplinary proceeding.
The instructor has right to make quizzes. The scores obtained from quizzes will be directly added to exam scores
