Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine the historical development of teacher training in Turkey and to analyze the policies, institutions, curricula, and practices from the mid-19th century to the present.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explains the historical transformation of teacher training institutions from the Ottoman period to the present.
2   Analyzes the socio-political context of teacher training policies across different periods.
3   Evaluates reform initiatives in teacher education and their impacts.
4   Discusses current teacher training models in comparison with historical approaches.
