Course Objective

The intention of this course is to take an in-depth look at the correlation between language and thinking in the context of bilingualism. Students should be able to analyze examples from the literature and grasp the mutual influence of concepts such as bilingualism and performance , bilingualism and knowledge and bilingualism and empathy .

1   Explain how language and thinking influence each other.
2   Understands the added value that bilingualism can bring in terms of brain function.
3   Discuss the potential benefits of bilingualism in learning different foreign languages.
4   Explain the effects of bilingualism on empathy.
5   Knows the literature and important studies on bilingualism
