Course Objective

This course aims to analyze various topics within Turkish foreign policy through the lense of foreign policy theories and approaches. Following an introduction of several foreign policy analysis frameworks, the course will focus on a wide range of topics on Turkish foreign policy. These topics will be selected in three categories: While the first category will concentrate on different periods (such as TFP in the aftermath of Arab Spring), second category will focus on Turkish foreign policy towards a specific country or region (such as Türkiye-China relations or TFP in Africa). Third category will concentrate on certain themes (such as energy politics).

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will learn theoretical frameworks of foreign policy
2   Students will be able to analyze various topics within Turkish foreign policy through the lense of foreign policy theories and approaches.
3   Students will evaluate TFP in different periods,Türkiye s relations with specific countries or regions and specific themes concerning TFP.ign policy decision-making.
4   Students will learn to analyse the impact of the decisions taken and policies pursued in Turkish foreign policy on world politics.
5   Students will improve and show their proficiency in presentation and writing skills by preparing and delivering elaborate presentations and term papers.
