Course Objective

To teach students how to translate Turkish text into Russian on the basis of translation theories and methods, taking into account the rules of the target language.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Students will gain the ability to approach Turkish-Russian translation critically.
2   2. Will have a grasp of the problems in the translation process and will gain the ability to solve them.
3   3.Will gain the ability to develop different strategies in Turkish-Russian translation.
4   4.Will gain the ability to evaluate news translations related to Turkey.
5   5.Will understand the types of oral and written translation.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 1. Providing information about oral and written translation, repeating previous knowledge with simple exercises. 11. Grammatical differences between languages when translating from Turkish into Russian.
2 2. Revisiting translation techniques at the undergraduate level and the characteristics of written and oral translation through translation practice. 12. Correct translation of verbs in Turkish to Russian, taking into account the 'topic of aspect'.
3 3. Conducting studies to reveal the differences between languages in translation from Turkish to Russian. 13. TComparing examples of translations from Turkish to Russian and practicing critical analysis.
4 4. Having text translations done from course resources and working on conveying the style correctly. 14. Written and spoken translation practice
5 5.Repetition of grammar rules through text translations from course materials, and the study of transferring verbs and verb forms from Turkish to Russian. 15. General review
6 6. A study on the problem of equivalence in the translation of proverbs and idioms into Russian. 16. Finel exam

9 9. The importance of punctuation marks and rhetorical figures in translation
