To equip horn students with the necessary skills and competencies for a professional orchestral career.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Analyze advanced orchestral solo and ensemble excerpts in depth, considering their structural, technical, and musical characteristics.
2   Perform complex solo and tutti excerpts from various musical periods with a high level of stylistic accuracy.
3   Apply advanced individual and group practice methods for orchestral solo and ensemble performance.
4   Demonstrate high-standard performance skills in professional rehearsal and audition settings.
5   Understand leadership roles within the orchestra (e.g., principal horn) and deliver cohesive and effective performances in solo and ensemble excerpts with other instruments.
