Course Objective

This course aims to help students analyze and perform key piccolo excerpts from orchestral works across different musical periods, and to prepare effectively for audition

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Identify the historical development and orchestral repertoire of the piccolo.
2   Analyze piccolo excerpts from orchestral works across various musical periods.
3   Perform technically challenging orchestral passages accurately, with control and expressiveness.
4   Perform orchestral repertoire with appropriate musical expression for the period.
5   Is able to complete repertoire preparation for orchestral auditions and deliver a performance appropriate to an audition setting.

Main Source: From the Renaissance to the present day written pieces for the instrument in every musical forms either solo or (with) accompaniment, appropriate class level.
Supporting resources: Written, visual and auditory sources about composers, musical forms and playing styles which studied in the period. Also this pieces records creating by diffrent performers.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Hands-on repertoire studies, technical exercises, listening and analysis sessions, brief individual presentations and interpretative discussions, along with applied performance practices in simulated rehearsal settings.
