Course Objective

*-. To provide an understanding of the concepts of clothing, clothing, clothing art, and stage wear, as well as the common elements and differences related to these concepts.
*-. To teach the relationship between drawing and body, and drawing and production processes in clothing drawing.
*-. To teach the types of clothing elements that make up clothing drawing and design, and to develop the skills to draw them.
*-. To provide the skills to design, make, and apply certain applications related to clothing production and application. (Garment, size, and measurement, clothing elements and types, clothing parts and drawing, use of the sewing machine, basic sewing techniques).
*. To provide the ability to create a basic body pattern using the Draping method, one of the basic body pattern creation methods for clothing application.
*-. To provide an understanding of the factors that influence the Stage Wear Designer and Stage Wear Design.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Examine the properties of clothing, art of clothing, stage clothing concepts and differences between them
2   Comprehend properties and functions of stage costume in performance arts and teaching the place and the importance of clothing symbolism in the performance arts,
3   Be able to design "stage costume" for performing arts field by observing factors related to clothing symbolism
4   Be able to apply "basic costume production techniques within the frame of dress, body and size concepts" aiming to bring in competence on developing the skill of increasing "applicableness and the level of realization of the design" affecting the costume design and develop special skills in performing arts
5   Learn clothing terminology and be able to use "clothing terminology" used in expression of profession, during the process of application of Stage Costume he/she designed
6   Possess the cultural knowledge that will form the base of Performing Arts
7   Be able to evaluate the theoretic information in the field of Performing Arts in light of information he/she gained during his/her practice

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

THEORETICAL INFORMATION: This course will be presented through a presentation, and all concepts will be illustrated with examples from printed visual publications and various performing arts products (film, theater).
DRAWING APPLICATIONS AND SIMPLE SEWING-CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES: This course will be taught through one-on-one practice by the instructor. Cognitive, affective, and psychomotor behaviors will be developed through hands-on experience. Examples will be provided using sections from relevant works in printed publications and visual arts.
RESEARCH-ASSIGNMENTS: The Structured Discovery Method will be followed. Data related to principles, concepts, and solutions to potential problems will be provided by the course instructor and organized with examples. Students will be guided by questions to analyze their data and reach their conclusions.

3- In-class exercises performed during the learning-teaching process, which will be conducted according to the course plan, will be evaluated holistically using the -technical evaluation grid-

Assessment Criteria

1- The quiz will be a written exam, and a question-and-answer format will be used.
2- Drawing and other practical applications performed in the workshop will be evaluated holistically using a -technical evaluation grid-. This evaluation will assess the ability to apply the technique at each stage, as well as the ability to utilize aesthetic elements that should be considered in the application. These applications will be conducted in class under the supervision of the relevant instructor.

1-Minimum %70 ,80 participation in each of class and in-class practices is mandatory.
2-Every practice is a whole and products not completed will not be assessed with the mark.
3-Starting with the requirement that practices should be learnt under the guidance of the academician, practicing and passing mark should be measured with competency and effort of the student;
Products and applications of the students created out of class not realizing the learning process by applying, not participating in applied teaching works will not be included in the -mark- evaluation
