Course Objective

To provide students with the necessary theoretical knowledge about the main elements of choir voice training and choir discipline, and to provide them with the ability to perform high-level vocal performances together within a group in line with this knowledge.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1- To have theoretical and practical knowledge about the main elements of choir voice training.
2   2- Learning the rules that enable us to make beautiful music together in theory and putting them into practice.
3   3- Ability to perform four-part Turkish and World choir literature pieces in a group
4   4- Ability to apply the musical dynamics in choral works within a homogeneous sound integrity.
5   5- To be able to display the musical knowledge gained in choir training during the semester by giving a choir concert.

5 5 - Warm-up exercises for the body, voice and breath. Singing a four-part choir pieces.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The course consists of theoretical information covering the basic elements of voice training and practices aimed at developing practical skills based on singing together. Assignments are given individually and consist of application of visual documentation by students and discussion of the results in the classroom. Assignments are the basis for these sessions. The problems of visual documentation of students are considered in these sessions.

Assessment Criteria

The two exams (midterm and final) to be held throughout the semester will affect 80% of the student's total success score.
In the midterm exam, it will be expected that the theoretical topics covered during the term have been comprehended. The final exam will be based on practice, and the student's correct and beautiful singing performance in the group will be evaluated.
