Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine the psychological development of children aged 0 18 in order to enhance the dentist s success in the examination and treatment of pediatric patients.

3   Defines communication methods with children.
4   Defines the acceptance processes of children for dental examination.
5   Explains treatment approaches for children with systemic diseases.

9 Age-based classification in child educational psychology
10 Behavior-based classification in child educational psychology
11 Classification of children according to their attitudes toward the dentist
12 Forms of resistance developed by children against dental treatment

14 Admission of children into the dental clinic and principles of the dentistist approach

Assessment Criteria

The course grade is calculated by taking 40% of the average of two midterm exams and 60% of the final exam. A resit exam is administered for unsuccessful students.
