Course Objective

The objective of course is to give the basic knowledge of materials technology to associate degree students, to have knowledge about material types and selection, to explain the relationship between microstructure and properties of materials, to teach physical, mechanical and chemical properties of materials.

1   To define the basic concepts of materials science and material properties
2   To classify materials and to choose appropriate materials
3   To interpret the factors affecting the properties of the material
4   To explain the mechanical behavior of the material
5   To select material testing and characterization methods
