Course Objective

This course aims to provide an overview of optical imaging in biomedicine with recent advances in the field of biomedical optics.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to understand the basics of optics.
2   To be able to appreciate novel technologies and applications in the field of biomedical optics.
3   To be able to describe the principles of light propagation in biological tissue.
4   To be able to list the major laser imaging methods in biomedical practice and research.
5   To be able to explain the principles of laser-tissue interactions.
6   To be able to understand the advances in current optical methods and technologies in biomedical applications.
