Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide knowledge about microfinance and social entrepreneurship. Microfinance provides financial services to the poor and has often been given as a model example of a social entrepreneurship innovation that addresses both social and economic problems. Microfinance concerns over individuals and groups protection and commercialization in lifting its clients out of poverty. The class will address these issues from both a philosophical and developmental perspectives.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   have sufficient knowledge on the concept of microfinance and microfinance models.
2   have sufficient knowledge on the concept of Commercialization, Development, Regulation, and Corporate Governance Issues.
3   demonstrate their knowledge on social entrepreneurship
