Course Objective

This course aims to provide an introduction to acquaint students with computers as tools of information processing and their applications. Students will be familiar with computer hardware, software and telecommunication devices. They may easily understand the features of the technological instruments used at the area of information technologies. They will be able to make applications related to the word processor, spreadsheets, and databases.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Demonstrate an understanding of basic concepts of computer software and hardware components.
2   Demonstrate an understanding of telecommunication devices.
3   Make applications related to the word processor, spreadsheets, and databases.
4   Demonstrate awareness of fundamental information technologies.
5   Generate applications from real data and events.
6   Be able to solve problems involving understanding of the functional and algebraic concepts in Excel.
7   Evaluate relationships among data entities to design integrated database.
