Course Objective

Introduction to instrumental methods (definitions, general concepts), spectroscopic, electrochemical, chromatographic, thermal analysis methods, separation in chromatography (liquid, solid-liquid, ion, gas chromatography), mass spectrometry, liquid and gas chromatography, chromatography analysis, chromatography-mass spectrometry applications.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to define instrumental analysis methods.
2   To be able to distinguish spectroscopic, electrochemical, chromatographic, thermal analysis methods.
3   To be able to evaluate the concepts of separation principles in chromatography.
4   To gain basic information about the mass spectrometry system and its components and to be able to explain these concepts.
5   To be able to recognize the systems used in the fields of Liquid and Gas chromatography.
6   To be able to make basic evaluations in liquid and gas chromatography systems method studies.
7   To be able to define the components obtained as a result of chromatography analysis.
8   To be able to evaluate by examining various application examples.
