Course Objective

To learn the Middle East region how it evolved in its past.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To learn the history of Middle East region beginning from the old civilizations
2   To be able to form correlations between the different civilizations of the region
3   To investigate the region beginning from pre-Christian period, Islamic period, nationalism in modern Middle East region, and competitive period of the region among two super powers
4   To evaluate the region from perspective of Ottoman Empire and Turkish Republic
5   To learn the period of Arab Spring
6   To learn the last existing position of the region which the war is still going on, from the beginning of Arab Spring .

4 The period of the First World War
5 Promises and Expectations of Arabs
6 Arabs and Zionists
7 San Remo and Sevr: Defects in the Peace
8 From war to war
9 The heritage which was left after the war
10 Approaches of the two super powers to the region
11 The Middle East region in the period of unipolar system and Arab Spring: Crisis of Iraq and Syria
12 The intervention of U.S. to the region
13 The approach of Türkiye to the region
14 The problems of ISID and Kurds
