Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine the effects of forms of social organisation on the perceptions of women and gender in the historical process in terms of belief systems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learns the forms of social organisation and their effects on gender perception
2   Learns the role of women in social, economic, political and religious life in Turkish culture before Islam.
3   Learns the value given to women in Uighurs, Gokturks and some other Turkish societies.
4   Understands the place of women throughout history and the rights of the Qur'an
5   Understands the effect of belief and culture on gender discrimination
