Course Objective

The aim of this course is to improve students' mental development and abstract understanding of how sociology responds to the historical process by reading and discussing the primary sources of classical sociology.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand the relationship between sociology and historical conditions as a science, 2   Strengthening the student's concrete-abstract bond by emphasizing on concept-real conditions 3   To teach the attitude of sociology towards social problems as a solution science 4   To realize how the distance between sociology and philosophy, politics and ideology is loosening in the process 5   From this point of view, to create awareness for the development of sociological, dual theory in our country by exemplifying the functional development of sociological theory.

Main source: All sources refer to the development of sociological theory published in the 19th and 18th centuries. Each semester will focus on different sources. Further readings: G.
