Course Objective

The aim if the course is to help the learner to become familiar with role of culture in economics. The course aims to introduce the learner the cultural context of economics. The course also aims to interpret economic discipline within a world that is conditioned by cultural phenomena.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Critically review the basic assumplions of the neoclassical paradigm of economic discipline by specifically focusing on the role of culture in economic system
2   Define cultural context of the economic system
3   Understand the economic aspects of cultural heritage
4   Recognize the role of creativity in economic system
5   Understand the role of cultural goods, institıtions, industries and sectors in economy
6   Demonstrate familiarity with the idea that economics operates within an environment that is conditioned with cultural phenomena
