Course Objective

Students learn about the rules and responsibilities, Civil Aviation Management concept, goals, recognizing the legal basis, the duties and responsibilities of the employees in the ramp, rules must be complied with on the apron, principles relating to the use of vehicles, installation of equipments, apron safety, hazardous materials and emergency situations that may arise.

1   Students will be able to have knowledge about the standards and principles of ground operations 2   Students will be able to know the types and details of ground services 3   Students will be able to understand the functioning of the airport ramp operation 4   Students will be able to anticipate problems that can be experienced by passengers 5   Students will be able to know components related to the operation safety 6   Students will be able to know the key activities that will cause delays 7   Students will be able to identify learning needs 8   Students will be able to plan and manage activities for development in line with the goals

Week Subject Description 1 Purpose of ground services and scope; types of airport ground services 2 International and national regulations 3 Runways, taxiways, aprons, aircraft parking areas, baggage handling area 4 Apron tools 5 Principles and procedures for the use vehicles in the PAT field 6 Dangerous areas around the aircraft 7 Mandatory rules to be complied with on the apron 8 Mid-Term Exam 9 Ramp Handling And Ramp Operations 10 Passengers, baggage, cargo operations at the airport 11 Loading plan on the plane, process of cargo service; installation equipment; control of unit load supplies; (cargo and mail-luggage) infiltration, leakage, spills in loadsapron safety 12 Safety on APRON and classification of dangerous substances 13 Emergency situations in RAMP area 14 Occupational health and safety on the APRON 15 Dangerous areas around aircraft; apron rules; checking of SAFA, SANA, SACA, aircraft welcome (marshalling); push back 16 Final Exam
