Course Objective

To understand the importance of the reproduction of popular culture and daily life in understanding today's social world.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understands the method and basic concepts of popular culture studies,
2   Understands the centrality of popular culture in the reproduction of daily life,
3   Understands whether popular culture emerged against elite culture or as a result of interaction,
4   Understands the relationship between popular culture and mass media.
5   Understands the relationship between popular culture and the aestheticization of daily life,
6   Understands that popular culture is not independent of power relations.
