Course Objective

To gain a scientific perspective on the place and importance of the family in social life and its effect on shaping social relations.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand the theoretical perspectives of family sociology
2   To ground the definition and functions of the family and the concepts of family sociology
3   To be able to understand family and marriage types
4   Family and social problems, disintegration, divorce, incest, ability to understand and interpret issues of domestic violence
