Course Objective

This course aims the students discuss important and role of transplant nurse, know to basic concepts and identifies in tissue and organ transplantation, the students to get knowledge based to suggestions of last literature and evidence based guides in issues related to pre, intra, and post operation care of tissue and organ transplant patient.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students can explain basic concepts and definitions in organ and tissue transplantation.
2   They discuss the role and importance of transplantation nurses.
3   They discuss the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care of the patient who will undergo an organ and tissue transplantation in line with the latest literature and evidence-based guides.
4   They plan the nursing care aimed at preventing and managing the side effects of immunosuppresive treatment following the organ and tissue transplantation.
5   They explain the legal and ethic issues related to the organ and tissue transplantation.

It is expected that homeworks and reports are prepared in APA format in computer.

Assessment Criteria

In the exams, the abilities of interpreting, remembering, taking a decision, explaining, classifying and combining the information will be evalauted.
