Course Objective

The aim of this course is to evaluate the relationship between the Turkish and European cultures on the basis of philology.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To distinguish the difference between cultural borrowings and prestige/intimate borrowings.
2   To determine the causes of the linguistic interactions.
3   To learn the causes and the conclusions of the interactions with the Turkish and European cultures.
4   To determine the cultural elements in the Western languages borrowed from Turkish.
5   To put the knowledge they have gained into practice through the texts.
