Course Objective

The social, economic and environmental impacts of the disaster throughout its life cycle will be assessed within the scope of environmental, cumulative and strategic impact assessment studies. The course content will present disaster impact assessment methodologies, environmental management plans in disasters, success criteria in disaster management and best practice examples. In addition, examples from disaster impact assessment studies for different sectors will be given.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

2   - To be able to use methodology for disaster impact assessment
3   - To be able to integrate disaster risk into environmental, cumulative and strategic impact assessment studies
4   - To gain basic knowledge in disaster risk reduction and management in the environmental context

Term exam and term paper are evaluation criteria.

It is mandatory to get at least 70 points from the term paper to gain the right to final.
